Standards
The trial phase of the project, in which test samples of a native primary sequence and an algorithm-optimized variant of the primary sequence are compared based on protein expression amount, must adhere to the NIH guidelines for research involving recombinant or synthetic nucleic acid, listed in the following link below:
NIH GUIDELINES FOR RESEARCH INVOLVING RECOMBINANT OR SYNTHETIC NUCLEIC ACID MOLECULES (NIH GUIDELINES)
http://osp.od.nih.gov/sites/default/files/NIH_Guidelines.html [1]
Regression of the individual parameters against their influence on protein expression will be performed using the methodology listed in the statistical analysis standards can be found at the National Center for Educational Statistics. The link to the guide of statistical standards can be found below:
Standards 5-1 : NCES Statistical Standards

MatLab will be used to perform statistical regression of the parameters, as well as bundle each parameter's functions into a single algorithm. The functions used are documented in the following link below:

The structure of the algorithm will adhere as closely as feasible to the software development standards dictated in the General Software Coding Standards and Guidelines used by the federal agency NOAA National Weather Service. These software development guidelines can be found in the link below:
